Isaiah 61:1-3

“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor.

He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners,..to comfort all who mourn,...to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of His splendor.”

The above picture is the TEAM behind the TEAM that that went to China.  Juming, now our International Rept. for Compassionate Care Int’l, orchestrated the week-long training program for the underground church in China.  Less than a year ago, Juming traveled to Columbus, Ohio to study under Millie so she could take the Compassionate Care training back to China, a people much in need of healing and training in counseling.  In six months, she transcribed both of Millie’s books and the PowerPoint presentations for both Pathways to Hope and Healing and Why We Can’t “Just Get Over It”. She attended all 117  hours of training in that six months, plus read books, watched DVDs, listened to tapes, which Millie gave her to equip her to go back to China and teach her people.  Juming graduated with the May, 2010 class, and left immediately for China.  Less than one year later, she had established herself as the Director of International Ministries in her underground church of over 100 people, and had gathered around her a number of students who had taken these classes in previous trips by Millie.

Juming’s church got behind her 100% and let people know as only the underground church can, about this training and could have brought over 200, but had to limit the numbers due to the political conditions in China where underground church members have been caught worshipping God and have been taken to jail.  Just prior to our arriving and just following our departure, numbers of underground Christians were hauled off to prison for worshipping illegally.  (See legal churches for more information).Cindy and Karel assisted Millie in teaching Pathways to Hope and Healing as well as Why We Can’t “Just Get Over It” in five twelve hour days, teaching from 9:00 a.m. till 9:00 p.m. with time out for lunch and dinner.  Josh served as our camera man; a role he had never taken before.  Due to lack of connections upon arriving in Beijing, the team was late arriving in Wuhan, and did not have time to rest before beginning this grueling schedule.  When not helping, the team grabbed rest whenever, wherever they could.  Praise God, the church provided rooms with beds for out-of-town participants, so the team could go lie down for short periods of time when needed.  They also provided meals three times a day for those coming from out-of-town.  We were served abundantly and graciously with such joy.

Juming had prepared her team well.  She had laid the groundwork for our training by teaching the concepts held within the books, but insisted that everyone attending have the books ahead of time and read them three times each…quite a feat!!!   They had to limit the number of people to 80 – so limited it to pastors, church leaders and counselor types.

The training was awesome.  The first time Millie had ever tried to combine both of her classes into one, but she found it “very effective” and exciting to see how they fit together.  The first three days were teaching the concepts of trauma and Biblical Principles of Healing, then the fourth and fifth days, Millie began to work with individuals to teach the healing methods in Pathways to Hope and Healing.  Many amazing healings took place, but we can only mention a few:
